Agave Australis is a brand of Mt Uncle Distillery ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses.
Confirmation that you are 18 or over, and date of birth where age verification is required.
Order history, payment status and delivery details.
The content of enquiries you send us, including trade and wholesale enquiries and the business details that come with them.
Technical information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view on this site.

How we collect it

Directly from you when you place an order, email us, sign up to receive news, make a trade enquiry, or visit the cellar door. Automatically through cookies and website analytics when you browse this site. Occasionally from third parties who deliver services on our behalf, such as our payment processor or delivery carriers.

Why we collect it

To take, process and deliver orders, and to contact you about them.
To confirm you are of legal drinking age.
To answer enquiries and manage trade and wholesale accounts.
To meet our obligations under liquor licensing, taxation and consumer law.
To improve this website and understand which content is useful.
To send you marketing about Agave Australis where you have asked to receive it.

Payments

Online orders are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe’s systems, not ours, and we do not store full card numbers. Stripe handles that data under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a small number of cookies. One remembers that you have confirmed your age so you are not asked on every page. Others support website analytics, which tell us how the site is used in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work, though you may be asked to confirm your age again.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the business: delivery carriers, our payment processor, IT and email service providers, professional advisers, and regulators or law enforcement where we are required to do so by law. Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We do not sell personal information.

Marketing

We only send marketing to people who have asked for it. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly. You can also email sales@mtuncle.com to be removed at any time.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as the law requires us to hold it, including records we must keep under liquor licensing and taxation legislation.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing sales@mtuncle.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
