Is Agave Spirit Gluten Free?

Agave spirit is distilled from the agave plant, not wheat, barley or rye, so it doesn't start from a gluten-containing grain the way whisky or some gins do.

Distillation itself also removes proteins including gluten, which is why even grain-based spirits are generally considered gluten-free by coeliac organisations in most cases, agave spirit simply doesn't raise the question in the first place.
