Serving Agave Spirit Neat: A Short Guide
No mixer, no citrus, just the spirit. Here's how to get the most out of a neat pour.
Room temperature, not fridge-cold, chilling a spirit mutes aroma and flattens flavour. Let the bottle sit out for ten minutes before pouring if it's been stored cool.
A tulip-shaped glass (a small wine glass works fine) concentrates aroma better than a wide tumbler. Pour a small measure and let it sit for a minute before the first sip, oxygen opens up the aromatics.
One large ice cube is a genuine option, not a compromise. It dilutes slowly and can round out the sharper edges of a younger spirit without watering it down too fast. Aged in particular can take it well.
